Author: HOMEWOOD, Alabama — A second arrest has been made in a shooting that sent a woman to UAB Hospital tonight, Homewood police said.
Sgt. Andrew Didcoct said that person was arrested when he went to a Green Springs Highway restaurant to make a phone call.
That restaurant is a short distance from the McDonald’s where the woman was shot at about 6:45 p.m.
The victim is in stable condition, Didcoct said.
The first arrest came soon after the shooting, Didcoct said, when the suspect drove past the crime scene. Officers noticed the car he was driving matched the description given by witnesses and stopped the car.
A Homewood police officer had to be treated for lacerations after the second arrest when he was bitten by a police K-9, Didcoct said.
