More than 1,000 gallons of sewage was spilled into Fish River on Saturday after lightning struck a 4-inch main line operated by the Baldwin County Sewer Service, according to a Baldwin County Health Department press release.
The spill, according to the news release, was located on Etta Smith Road in the Marlow area,The health department urged residents to exercise caution if using this body of water for recreational purposes, as well as to thoroughly cook any fish or seafood caught in the area and wash hands after handling fish or seafood.
