ORLANDO, Florida — The Casey Anthony murder trial took a shocking turn today as the defense continued attacking prosecution testimony, with Anthony’s mother, Cindy Anthony, taking the stand to say she, not her daughter, search for chloroform on the family computer.

Cindy Anthony said she was actually meaning to look up information about chlorophyll because a scare regarding hand sanitizers. She said she also looked up other seemingly incriminating terms referencing trauma and injuries after a friend was in a car accident.

What’s more, according to multiple media reports, Cindy Anthony said the stain in the trunk of Casey Anthony’s car was there when they purchased it. Prosecutors have suggested Caylee’s decomposing body made the stain.

Anthony is charged with killing daughter Caylee Marie in the summer of 2008. The 2-year-old’s remains were found in woods near her family’s east Orange County home in December of that year.
