GUNTERSVILLE – A single-engine aircraft crashed near Guntersville Airport some time around 10 a.m. this morning. Marshall County coroner Marlon Killion confirmed that four people were aboard the plane and that two adults died in the crash.
Two children were transported to Huntsville Hospital, at least one by Medflight. Huntsville Hospital declined to comment.
The plane appeared to crash in a residential area near the intersection of Cedar Circle and Morrow Drive on Buck Island. The wings and tail section were visible in a yard near the intersection. There did not appear to be any damage to nearby homes.
Guntersville police were handling the incident and declined to release any information.
