Author: JEMISON, Alabama — A Sylacauga woman lost her life in a single-vehicle crash on Monday at 1:57 p.m. when she was traveling on Alabama Highway 155 approximately five miles north of Jemison in Chilton County, according to the Alabama Department of Public Safety.
Laura Highfield Burton, 39, was killed when the 1994 Mazda B4000-X-Cab pickup truck she was driving left the roadway and overturned. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash is still under investigation.
