TRUSSVILLE, Alabama — Trussville Mayor Gene Melton is telling residents to be patient as work crews continue to pick up storm debris around town.
Melton said work crews are behind schedule picking up downed tree debris and branches from storms within the last month.
High winds damaged roofs around town, including a community center’s, and took out trees in neighborhoods throughout the city.
Waste Management plans to send extra trucks to aid in pickups this week, he said.
“It’s on a lot of people’s minds, based on the number of calls and e-mails I’ve gotten in the last two weeks,” he said.
