MOBILE, Ala. — A 27-year-old Prichard man whose picture was shown on area electronic billboards for at least a month was arrested Monday afternoon on multiple felony charges, Mobile police said.

Henry Darnell Lee was charged with first-degree robbery, five counts of receiving stolen property, five counts of giving false information to a secondary metals recycler and two counts of unlawful breaking and entering a vehicle, spokesman Officer Christopher Levy said.

Lee was in Mobile County Metro Jail without bail, jail records show.

On June 16, Levy said, the owner of a Toyota Raum Lee was trying to steal confronted him, and Lee pointed a pistol at the owner, fired a shot and took the SUV. No one was injured. The incident took place at Baylor and Princeton drives.

Lee is accused of stealing five cars between March and June and taking them to Dean’s Scrap Metal in Eight Mile to sell, after signing affidavits at the business saying he had permission to sell the cars, Levy said.

Even though billboards showed his face repeatedly all over Mobile, it was the police intelligence unit that arrested Lee in Prichard’s Alabama Village community, Levy said. “We’re glad we’ve finally got him,” he said.
